Spanish Graphs

Spanish Mathematics Dance Collective

The representation of numbers into a graph formation is perhaps the driest subject for a fringe show, but the Spanish Maths Dance manage to make this show absorbing and moving in equal measure.

This is testament to the skill of the dancers, particularly Davide Sallon and Marie Testolde who play the horizontal and vertical axes of many of the stunning and captivating graphs that are represented over this three hour performance.  Time melted away as did the boundaries of our minds though the cunning use of movement and data.

In the gripping finale, the cast compete to give the best powerpoint representation thought the medium of contemporary modern dance. Breath taking in the most literal sense of the word, it took my breath away. And while the resulting panic attack stopped the performance while St Johns Ambulance crews attended to me, the show was far from spoilt.

The Verdict

A thrilling combination of dance and maths.
